Olympos Fethiye Blue Cruise
Olympos Fethiye Itinerary
The Olympos – Fethiye Blue Voyage route is a sailing cruise of the best landmarks, coastal resorts and attractions of the Mediterranean coast in Turkey.
Sites you will visit include…
St. Nicholas Island that has a connection to the original Santa Claus and an impressive collection of ancient churches.
The village of Simena, famous for its castle and panoramic view over Ucagiz bay. Locals have also established a countrywide reputation for their delicious home-made ice-cream.
Gokkaya Bay where the only way to get to the nearest bar is by water taxi! Another highlight is the Blue cave, situated inside a large rock face
The rustic and quiet Village of Ucagiz is a collection of traditional fishing village houses.
The charming town of Kas that has embraced modern trends yet retained the quaint appearance of a small town. On our way there, we also visit Yaglica Bay and Kocakari Bay for refreshing swim stops.
Butterfly Valley of which their motto is to be at “peace with nature”. It is a rustic destination, well known for snorkelling and the hidden waterfalls situated at the back of the canyon.
Oludeniz Beach is long, sandy and protected by government law because it is the perfect setting for a picture postcard
You will be picked up from Olympos at approximately 10 am and taken to Demre to shop, visit banks and ensure you have all items for your cruise. At 12.30 noon, we head for Cayagzi Andriake harbour to board your gulet boat.
After setting sail, our first stop is Pirates Cave for a snorkelling and swimming break. We then cruise further along the coastline to visit the Sunken City of Kekova, and then sail past Lycian rock tombs to head to Simena where guests have free time to explore.
After boarding the boat, we head to Gokkaya Bay, and drop anchor for the night. Dinner is served on board and anyone wanting to enjoy the nightlife can visit Smuggler’s Inn to meet passengers from other cruise boats and enjoy a night of music.
The captain wakes early to start sailing but you can wake up at your leisure. We drop anchor in Yaglica bay and the serve you a traditional Turkish breakfast on-board. This is also the chance for an early morning swim.
By lunchtime, we have sailed further along this stretch of coastline to reach the resort of Kas. Explore the cobbled streets lined with traditional houses, have lunch in a café, visit Internet shops and buy souvenirs. Alternatively, if you want to try scuba diving, this can be arranged because Kas is famous for its scuba diving hotspots including Ottoman ships and German planes. (Note: We will need prior notification of your request so we can make arrangements for everything to be ready)
By the end of the day, we have settled in Aquarium Bay for dinner on board and an evening with your sailing passengers. If the weather is ideal, sleep on deck to end a wonderful day by hearing the gentle lapping of the Mediterranean Sea.
Cruising in a north direction, the first scene when you wake up is Butterfly Valley. Named after the butterflies that breed there during the month of October, it is situated in a large canyon. After free time here, we sail 40 minutes to the nearby Olu-Deniz beach where you can also visit the Blue Lagoon that features on most picture postcards of Turkey.
Adrenaline addicts can sign up for a tandem paragliding lesson with a trained instructor. Taking off from the nearby Baba Mountain, at a height of 2000 metres, it is the best bird’s eye view you will ever see. (This must be pre-booked so we can arrange for a qualified instructor and pick up service.)
Your last night is spent near St. Nicholas Island. We recommended climbing up to the top to see the ruined churches and also a stunning sunset over the Mediterranean Sea.
After your last breakfast on-board the boat, we pull up anchor to sail to Samanlik Bay or Tarzan's Bay for swimming and lunch. We then arrive in Fethiye harbour for the end of your cruise.
All efforts are made to follow itineraries but on occasions, the captain may alter these according to the sailing conditions of the day. In these situations, the revised schedule and alternative options are communicated to passengers so no money will be refunded.
Paragliding: over oludeniz (Blue Lagoon) - 2000 meters from Babadag mountain flight over the best beach in Europe...in one word- amazing!
It's easier than you think; you just walk down the hill tandem with a pilot. You're in the air on your 2nd or 3rd step, then swooping down really smoothly above one of the best paragliding areas in the world for up to 45 minutes, before landing on the beach. Please be reminded that you must book this ahead, so we can arrange a speed boat pick up/drop off service to the boat. This service is included in total price.
Diving in Kas (or Fethiye): Kas is a favourite spot for diving in Turkey. You can see some Ottoman ships or German planes from the Second World War, there are also some ancient ruins to see. We can arrange this experience for you.
